The cast havn't been announced yet.. but..sources close say that one of the barbacks or bartenders from JR's Denver is going to be one of the ROOMATES on the Show!!!!!!! HOT.. That would prob. mean that with him working at our fav. Denver hangout that they may film there at least once!!!!!!!!!
MTV Sponsored a Real World Denver Launch Party at Vynle.. one of Denvers Premier Dance Clubs... I couldn't attend because of my schedule.. but I recieved a VIP pass.. Damn the luck!!!!! Anyway..I'll keep you posted on up-coming Real WOrlD Denver Events!!!!!!

To tell you the truth, I've just been busy working and adjusting to life here in Denver.. so not really alot has happened to tell.. Untill Memorial Day Weekend. seen him since then. So, Over the long holiday weekend, I flew from Denver to Phoenix via Southwest Airlines to party with Justin and his new boyfriend Chris. Wow did I have a blast!!!! I met some great people, and made alot of new friends. And of course, It was great to see Justin...Im so proud and happy for him.. he, like myself in Denver, just needed to get away from the dul-drums of Fayetteville.. He's made a pretty good life for himself in Phoenix, including his boyfriend Chris.. who I grew very fond of on the trip.. Speaking of Trip..

CHRis is a blast to hang out with and party with.. Immediately off the plane on Saturday morning, we hit a local restaurant called "Hamburger Mary's" for 2 for 1 Long Island Iced Teas.. WHOOOO.. It's been forever since i've drank those!!!!!!! Then, we headed to Chris' parents house to swim. Man.. we stayed in the pool all damn day!!! and of course.. drank MORE!!! I was trashed by 2pm! LOL... later in the evening, Justin, Chris myself and Justins best friend Dan went to a club called Charlies.. we got there about midnight and stayed till 4:30am!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAMN.... OF course.. as ritual has it when ur drunk.. we had to grab some food after all that partying.. so we went to Jack in the Box.

Well guys I know that it has been over a month since I have posted a new blog, and im sorry for the delay. To catch you up, i'm still bartending and managing this Irish Pub/Restaurant here and working my ass off. Been working some doubles and back-to-backs, so have been just working and sleeping alot, with a little play time in between. I have alot of new friends here in Denver, and hang out with them as often as I can. Sunday, my buddies Scott, his boyfriend Nicholus, and our friend Stephen and I all went to the Denver Wrangler and started drinking at about 4:30!!! They have an all you can drink beer-bust for $5 from 4 to 8 pm!!! we stayed there till about 7, then went to eat and then.. to JR's Denver. Stayed there for a while then went to the Foxhole, which is a really kewl place for summer partying! It's an out-door nightclub with a huge outdoor dancefloor, system bars etc. Cant wait for a little warmer weather for that!!! Then, it was back to JR's to finish off the night. Had a great time and cant wait to do it all over again next week! LOL The weather here in Denver has been kind of back and forth. While all of you have been experiencing summer for a month or so now, with temps in the 80's and 90's, we had Snow on April 26th!!! Then it was back to warm, now its grey and about 50 today. Guess I will have to get used to the climate change, Denver definately has noticable seasons with spring not starting until may, and summer... well, we will see when that starts!! Well, it's here.. 35.. I know.. I can't believe it! But, alas, we all get older and the years go faster... so... I'm going to CELEBRATE the fact that I have, for the most part, survived sucessfully for 35 years. Tho I wont be able to party with most of my friends from home, I'm still going to have the best time that I can. I actually have met someone named Joe... He and I have a dinner date and I'm very excited about it. This will also be our "first" actual date..having met at one of the clubs..I dont count that as a date. So tonight it's a birthday date... and mayby, just mayby, I'll get a birthday kiss.. actually.. i know I will... Joe is a GRRREAT kisser!~ So, for all of you who I can't be with on this special day for me... You will all be in my mind, and thinking of memories past.. so.. kind of like you will be with me anyway. I love ya guys and gals, keep in touch with me.

Brannigans's Irish Pub

Well, I just recieved an e-mail from Brian reminding me that I havnt updated my blog in a while. WHEEWW.. been busy. Anyway.. I do have a job now, thank god, at an Irish PUb in Caslt Rock, CO.. south of Denver Metro. I'll be doin what I do best.. that is getting all the locals drunk. and.. will have some bar management responsibilities too. This is just a "get me by" job..I Have had, and have several more interviews for career positions with a couple companies...One for a Brewery/Restaurant based out of GOlden, CO for thier DIRECTOR OF TRAINING... kinda nervouse bout this one.. cuz its a senior level executive position... the other, with a coffee company based here in Denver for thier District Manager..its a very small, new company with only 3 units in Colorado..but, that puts me in on the ground floor of a growing company with the ability to grow with them!

So.. have a date later today with a guy I met here, his name is Travis... He just moved here also from Michigan. God hes HOT!!! 27 years old, and thinks im a greek god or something... told him he needed a damn eye exam! Anyway, I wont stop him from complimenting me.. to each his own and beuty is in the eye of the beholder, it helps my self-esteem anyway. So, hopefully, Travis and I will hit it off even more so than we already have...then.. I have a date next week with a guy named Tim.. (whats up with the T's), LOL..hes younger, but a professional who's head is in the right place..I will keep you ALL updated on both these outings... Ohh, and by the way..just in case you are saying to yourself " Kelly's Bein a HO' in denver".... I havn't touched a sole since I left Arkansas!!! so..stay tuned.. mayby that will change!

LIFE IN DENVER

Well, I made it, im finally in Denver, and so far, things are really good. The entire move has went really well, I'm completely settled in, and am now meeting Club Managers and networking to get a bartending job. So far, I have personally interviewed with 3 club managers, and have 2 more repeat interviews this coming week. One of which, would be great! It would be to replace the club manager who is going to open a new club. So wish me luck on that!.. I have met several new friends, all thanks to My Buddy, and now roomie, Chris. FAYETTEVILLE FAREWELL

Well, this is my last day in Fayetteville, at least for now, as a resident. Im sure i'll be back to visit, I have tons of friends here, and of course, family in North East Arkansas. I have met today with great excitement, but in the last few minutes.. have kinda fell low.. I dont know why, I cant wait to get out of here, but at the same time.. Fayetteville has been home, been comfortable, and been safe for me for almost 12 years. The apartment is packed, the rental truck and car dolly are here, and things have fallen into place nicely. I am excited though, my buddy Justin in Phoenix wants me to come down in a few weeks for my birthday! Im really anxcious to see him, and Jessy and Ali. THe going away party Friday night was a huge turn-out. We started off at around 8pm, drinking, then went to the club where I recieved a standing ovation from the crowd when the queens announced to the audience that I was moving to Denver... It made my day..that I..Little ole' me, could have had that much of an influence on that many people all through STUDIO 716. Then, the after party started at 2 when the club closed..I invited EVERYONE!! and.. about 50 - 70 of them came... and they stayed until 6 am!!!.. man I was beat..but I wouldn't change it for the world. I did, however, forget to buy film..so.. no goin away party pics except form people who had cameras..and they are going to send me copies. So, I will end this post for now... The next one... Today, I sit facing reality, with the phone calls never ending, the e-mails constant and the packing having begun, the reality of my decision to move has set in. I have to admit, a little part of me is screaming "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!#*&$#& " but, the other, more sane and realistic part of me then calmy says.. "yeah, panic now..but in a week, you will be high on life, oh yeah..and high on that altitude in Denver! " LOL, But honestly, it is hard to say good-bye, something I have never had a keen ability to do, so again.. Today, I sit...Facing Reality...Denver.. Here I come... Ready or not.

Will be my new home. I pick up the U-Haul Monday morning Feb. 27th, at 9am. From there, I will load it and leave for Denver Tuesday morning. I have been strugling with this for a while, and just feel that it is time in my life for a new start, a fresh place and a new me. Today, I feel 18 Again...

Hey guys, I created this blog specifically to keep my out of state friends informed of my life and what's goin on with it.
Last night, after many phone calls and emails, I went on a date with a guy name Chris. Chris is 25 and works for one of the NWA Big-3 companies. He just moved here from Boise Idaho a few weeks ago. Anyway, Chris and I set this date up several days ago and finally got the chance to meet in person last night. I was so nervous, you would think I had never been on a date before with a guy! Well.. it has been a long time, anyway.. We decided that we didn't want a dinner date, and didn't want the impersonal feel of a movie date.. so.. we went to Starbucks and sat on the patio (weather was in the 60's) and just talked and laughed and enjoyed each other's company. I gotta tell you all... I haven't had the butterflies in my stomach like I did last night, and still do today, in YEARS! Immediately upon meeting Chris I felt comfortable, and our conversations just went perfectly inter-twining together. Man am I feeling great today. We ended the date at Starbucks, and I had told Chris I needed to get home and Iron for work today... He then asked if I minded him tagging along so we could keep the conversation going while I Iron. Of course I could not say no.. I didn't want the date to end either. I could tell that Chris was feeling the same way.. You know.. you can just tell when someone is interested, and I am a good judge of character and can tell when someone is truly having a good time. We got to my apt at about 9:30 cst, and sat on the couch and talked and laughed, and giggled like we were some kind of high-school kids on a first date.. man it was so refreshing..and the greatest part of all... We kept to the no physical contact on the first date rule! That made me very happy, because now I know he is interested in ME..and not just a quick bounce in the hay. So, as the night wore on, the laughter continued and the conversation went on, we finally realized it was midnight and he had to get home, and I had to Iron.. He leaned in, and kissed me.. <> I haven't felt that kind of true honest meaningful first kiss..well.. i don't know if I ever have. He asked me to walk him to the door, we hugged, I returned the afore-mentioned kiss..and said good night.. BUT.. not before scheduling our next date.. DATE #2!!!!!!!!!!! I CANT WAIT!!
Today..I feel 18 again.. a high-school boy with his first kiss, first date behind him, wondering... if this date was so fantastic..what will the second be like?
ps... I am still looking forward to the future of a different city...

Hello?...Denver Calling, Is your U-Haul There?

Well, it Seems that my first blog asking your opinions about whether or not I should move out of Fayetteville has evoked a string of events that I couldn't even begin to imagine. Some of you know Chris Jacks, also formerly of Fayetteville, who now lives in Denver Colorado. Last night the phone rang, it was Chris. He had caught wind of my thoughts on leaving Fayetteville, and in passing over Christmas we had jokingly thrown around my moving to Denver with him.. So back to the phone call. Chris owns a house in Denver and has offered to let me pack my stuff, head in a u-haul and get a new start at life with him in the Mile-High City. I have to admit, since a small boy, I have always been a fan of Denver. My mother, step-father and I lived there for several years when I was a boy. So, Denver has, and to this day, still is the ONLY large City that I have ever actually resided in. So, after a lengthy phone conv. Chris and I agreed that I should fly out for a week, stay with him, look around and see what I think, ant then make my decision. I have butterflies in my stomach! I don't know if that's from excitement, nerves..or maybe the Wheaties I ate for breakfast this morning. Anyway... Yesterday it was and opportunity in Sacramento, CA...which by the way is still very attractive to me.. now today..Denver, CO.. Who knows what tomorrow will bring! I can't wait to find out!

THE VOICES HAVE SPOKEN

WOW! I didn't realize the responses I would get back on the issue of Fayetteville, and whether or not I should pack the bags. And, I have to trust the feedback I received because: A) The feedback came from people who have been in this EXACT situation; B) You all know me, and apparently see a stronger side of me than I do; C)You have all been-there done-that with Fayetteville and finally; D)Having been here for 11 years, I didn't realize what I really hate about Fayetteville, Mark, You really opened my eyes with your reply. The fact of more shopping, more buildings, more restaurants and such are irrelevant to me. But what you have all made me realize is that what I said in the original blog about single life here, and the people and being tired of the gay scene here is SO DAMN TRUE! I have to admit, I did not really see Fayetteville in the way that you guys do now, probably because I have been here. Sometimes it is harder for an insider to see what they are really looking at, and it takes someone from the outside to show it to them.

So, Having said all that... I can report, that at 6:00pm last night... wow this is IRONIC... A company called "MOUNTAIN MIKES" called me out of the blue. They had found my Resume' on MONSTER.COM and wanted to discuss a Territory Rep and Franchise Training position with me for ... of all places... SACRAMENTO (click on header for link) and SAN FRANCISCO CALIFORNIA!! OH MY GOD! I would just about do anything to live in San Fran. They told me they are in the "beginning" stages of interviewing for this Upper Corporate Position, but..out of 30 or so resumes, mine is the only one with the "real" experience they are looking for. She explained that there possibly would be relocation benefits and the salary pkg. would more than cover the difference in cost of living between Hicksville and City-Life!
SO... Is this a hint? We will see! But..Im actually excited about it... I do still have the job offer on the table here, as GM for Montana Mikes Steakhouse. And, If I have to take that to make it through until I can land this, or another job..I will. I'll keep in touch.

FAYETTEVILLE, HAS MY TIME COME?

November 24, 1994, that's the date that Mark and I moved to Fayetteville from Jonesboro, AR. We were so very excited, moving to Fayetteville was like moving to a whole new world for both of us. There were things to do, different restaurants, nightlife, liquor stores (Jonesboro was in a dry county), and so many new things to see and do. But, alas, 11 years later, I have begun to tire of the charm of this Athens-Like city in the Ozarks. I know many of you who read this blog have once lived here, and..have now moved on to bigger and better places. So my question to myself is this... Am I ready for a transition again, and..am I too old and too stable here to do it? Ive been looking for the answers, and honestly... I cant really find a "REAL" reason to leave other than I just may well want too.

Fayetteville is on the grow, moving up, moving forward and ideally, getting better by the day... But that still doesn't have me convinced that I want to spend another 11 years here. Another factor in my dilemma is being single in Fayetteville... What can I say, those of you who have lived here know exactly what im talking about...Fayetteville is NOT the best place in the world to be single, especially if you want something more.
I have a great deal of history now that has been archived in my mind from Fayetteville...Friends, Relationships, Good times, Bad times, etc. But I just wonder if there is more out there, and, if in fact a bigger city would answer my aching need for more life. Anyone care to input on this? I know many of you have moved to larger cities from Fayettevile so I ask you this..Is it REALLY that much different?? I mean sure, there are bigger buildings, more restaurants, more shopping, more people..but the LIFE is the part I am interested in hearing about. I can drive to cities to get more shopping, dining etc. But what I'm after is... well.. a better life in general as far as dating, living etc.
So, on goes my quest for the future, at nearly 35 (March 14th), I'm wasting time sitting here trying to decide... You guy's have all known me for years, many of you for decades, so tell me... "Is there life out there?"

NWA'S FIRST SNOW OF 06'

Winter 2005/2006 has been... well, anything but. According to KNWA News Northwest Arkansas (NWA) has had the warmest January on record. Dating back to the 1800's. Friday night, I worked at Red Rock City (see related blog), and did'nt get off work until 5am. Well, I hung out in Fort Smith for a while, then drove back to Fayetteville. As I came over the final mountain on I 540 N. at 7:45am Saturday, It started to snow. I love snow..so this woke me up and made me start feeling all giddy inside! But, having been awake for some 23 hours, I quickly got home and went to sleep thinking that this was just a passing pissed off cloud. When I got up Sat. Afternoon, I was shocked when I looked out the window and all rooftops, cars, grass, sidewalks and parking lots where completely covered with a blanket of fresh white! It was beutiful!.. well, the snow continued on and off all day, and all night.. snowing so hard at 7pm, that on my drive back to Fort Smith to work Sat night, I had to turn around and not risk going any further. So welcome Winter..we've been waiting for you!

MY NEW RIDE, No..Its Not a Honda.

After months of searching for the right car, I have finally purchased one. It's a 2005 Toyota Solara SE Sport. The previous owner never drove it, so it only has 5000 miles! Practically brand new. The picture above is one from Toyota.com of the same car, but mine is Silver with black interior. I know...Its not a HONDA, but after a great deal of deciding, and comparing, I just couldnt pass it up. So, I now have Toyota to add to my list of all the cars I have had. WOW, BRIAN.. Do you remember that 1987 Gold Honda Accord I had in college? "Jane Honda"... That thing ran forever, had 280,000 miles on it when I got rid of it! Hope this Toyota can keep up with my Honda's.

So, Here's the deal.. I have always named my car. And everyone elses' for that matter, but..I have no clue on this one.. My honda's, in order, have been.... Jane Honda, Fonda Honda, Another Jane Honda, Contessa, Pussy Prelude, and some others i cant remember... so help me out on this one guys!!! Gimme some names!

Actually, I was raised in http://www.bgchamber.org/Bowling Green, MO. just a few miles south of Hannibal, but as many do, I tell people unfamiliar with the area of the nearest large city of interest that they may have actually heard of. But, Hannibal does have a significant part of my raising and thus, my history. Each spring, Hannibal host's a festival called "Mark Twain Days". Locals dress in the period of the Mark Twain era and there are contests, fairs etc. One such contest, though I don't know if it still goes on today, is the Fence Whitewashing Contest. Mom and Dad would put me in this as a boy, dressed in nothing but overhauls, a straw hat,no shoes or socks, and of course, a straw sticking out of my mouth! I have pictures to prove it! Anyway, this helped in my nickname at a later date. But I have fond memories of both Bowling Green, my actual hometown, and of Hannibal. If you ever get the chance, Hannibal is a great place to site-see and visit. With tons of history, sites and people of notable interest who were born there, you are sure to learn and enjoy your visit.

DREAMS NEVER DIE

Are we ever too old to live out a dream? For most dreams no, but for this one... time is not on my side any longer. Since the early days, people have been asking children "what do you want to be when you grow up little boy?" and for most, at young ages, the answers were typical. "Doctor, Lawyer, Fireman...etc" But mine, even at a VERY young age wasnt any of those..it was "I want to fly!" And, I still do. While I was in 2nd grade, living in Denver, my parents would take me to Stapleton Intl. Airport, and we would park beside the runways and I would watch for hours as Jet after Jet Airliner would land, and take-off. I was, and still am, very intrigued by jets. So, sensibly, being a PILOT would have been the answer... ohh how wrong I was. Not only is college expensive, as many of us know... but add to that approx. $80,000.00 more to acchieve my goal today, and become a pilot with all the necessary ratings and hours. I have been accepted at Delta Connection Academy, in Orlando, FL. But, the price tag is still the kicker. so... Is a dream a reality in life, or do we ever become too old to do it... Ill let you decide..as for my dream... Unless I stumble over a $80,000 pile of green... I will die wondering... "What is it really like up there in the front Seat"

Brokeback Mountain

Well, after a great deal of waiting, and time spent deciding whether or not to drive to Tulsa or OKC to see Brokeback Mountain, it finally made it to Fayetteville. Im assuming that much protest on its non-release here and the fact that it walked away with the Globes helped. But whatever the reason, Northwest Arkansas' gay and lesbian community, along with TONS of straight couples, singles and the like, showed up in the hundreds to buy their tickets last Friday night. They are showing three times, 4:45, 7:25, and 10:10. From what the theatre staff said, all three shows were sold out capacity the entire weekend.
My friend Joe, Alli and I all went together for the 7:25 Saturday showing. Man, the lines were long, and the auditorium was, as I thought it would be, sold out. I have to admit, It took me a while to get into the movie, to me, it seemed to start off a bit slow, im a little ADD so slow starts to movies loose my interest. But, I finally settled into a comfortable mode and watched with great intent. It seems that this story was written from my own very deeply imbedded fictional love story as it hit home on nearly all accounts with what I, and many other gay men, fantasize about the loves we have, and the love stories we dream up in our heads. To that point, I applaud the writers of Brokeback Mountain. They indeed hit a chord in some of the gay community that has needed to be strummed for some time. And if parts of the straight, conservative community are upset about it...then I have this to say. Brokeback Mountain simply brought to life a thing that has been going on since the dawn of time. Two guys, play around, keep it quiet, get married, pop out a few kids, play around some more, stay married hiding their true feelings, play some more and bam....get divirced and do it all over again...Funny, mayby thats what the critics are upset about... we "outted" thier secret society of straight by day, gay by night. Anyway, thats my opinion, take it for what its worth. I loved the movie, and intend on seeing it again before it leaves theaters.

Welcome to "In The Name of Huck!"

Hello everyone! I have Brian Long, Dallas TX., To thank for this blog. After reading his, I realized that with many of my friends now scattered across the country from St. Louis, to Phoenix and Denver, it would be a great way for all of you to keep up with whats goin on, whats happenin and where i'm at in life.

Firstly, for those of you who Dont know about the "Huck" thing, a little explanation. Huck was my nick-name from about age 12 until about 25, when I kind of felt I had grown out of it. Having been born and raised on the Mississippi river, near Hannibal, Missouri, then moving to Arkansas, people penned me "Huck" for shear laughs and fun, but... it stuck! So, now at a little older age, im bringing it back! LOL... we will see how that works out...
Anyway, I want this blog to be a place where all of me current friends, and friends anew to come and see whats up with me, and in turn, to know whats up with you. So always feel free to comment on any of the blogs that I post on here. I look forward to hearing from you, and I hope that I can keep up with this...Brian.... any advice? LOL
